Foreign trade in fish, 10/2020 (preliminary)

  • In October 2020, about 8.5 million kilos of fish and fish products were exported from Finland, which was worth EUR 15.8 million. The number of kilos of fish exported increased by about 1.3 million kilos compared to October of the previous year, while the value of exports increased by only 0.4 million euros.
  • The amount of products exported for human consumption was 8.2 million kilos, worth 15.3 million euros. The volume of exports was 1.5 million kilos higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, while the value of exports remained the same. 0.3 million kilograms were exported for non-human consumption.
  • The volume of imports of fish and fish products remained almost unchanged from a year ago, while the value of imports decreased by EUR 1.3 million. The volume of imports of fish and fish products was 9.8 million kilos and the value of imports was 39 million euros.
  • The volume of products imported for human consumption was 9.1 million kilos and the value was EUR 38.2 million. 0.7 million kilograms were imported for non-human consumption.
  • In October, about 5.2 million kilos of fresh whole salmon were imported from Norway. It was about 1.2 million kilos more than in October of the previous year.
