Biobank of Natural Resources

Finland's first biobank focused on natural resources is here - Luke's Natural Resources Biobank brings together valuable and diverse natural resource collections for permanent storage and active use. Research and product development projects will be offered a unique resource to promote the use of renewable natural resources and increase well-being.

Luke's Natural Resources Biobank is the first biobank in Finland to focus on natural resources. Luke has assembled valuable and diverse collections of natural resource samples for permanent storage and use. The Natural Resources Biobank provides samples and data for high-quality research and product development projects aimed at promoting well-being and a sustainable future from renewable natural resources.

In the Sample management -project (2022-2025), Luke is reorganising and developing its sample management. The Sample management -project is designing an electronic tracking solution and metadatabase for the comprehensive lifecycle management of samples. In the future, users will be provided with an interface for browsing sample collections and the possibility to request access to samples and their data.
