Foreign trade in fish, 11/2020 (preliminary)

  • In November 2020, approximately 7.3 million kilos of fish and fish products were exported from Finland, which was worth EUR 18.3 million. The number of kilograms of fish exported decreased by about 1.2 million kilograms compared to November of the previous year, while the value of exports increased by 1.2 million euros.
  • The amount of products exported for human consumption was 7.1 million kilos, worth EUR 18 million. The volume of exports was one million kilos higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, with the value of exports increasing by one million euros. 0.2 million kilograms were exported for non-human consumption.
  • The volume of imports of fish and fish products remained almost unchanged from a year ago, while the value of imports decreased by EUR 3.2 million. The volume of imports of fish and fish products was 9.5 million kilos and the value of imports was 40 million euros.
  • The amount of products imported for human consumption was 8.9 million kilos and the value was EUR 39.4 million. 0.5 million kilograms were imported for non-human consumption.
  • In November, nearly five million kilos of fresh whole salmon were imported from Norway. It was 1.4 million kilos more than in November of the previous year. As such, three million kilos of imported salmon were still exported to Europe.
