Damage agent management

Climate change increases the risk of pests and plant diseases as well as extreme weather phenomena, such as droughts. The challenges include forecasting the distribution of the pests and their impact in a changing climate, and how to safely control and eradicate them. It is important to make primary production more pest-resistant and thus secure food production, but without reducing biodiversity.

Goals of the research area

  • The risks of biotic and abiotic damage agents and preparing for these risks in a changing climate
  • Methods for monitoring and managing damage agents, and for their safe control
