Foreign trade in agri-food products, 7/2021 (preliminary)

  • In July 2021, agricultural products and foodstuffs were exported approximately at a value EUR 0.14 billion and imported almost EUR 0.45 billion. Compared to July of the previous year, the value of exports decreased by 7 per cent and the value of imports by one per cent.
  • The volume of grain exports in July 2021 was approximately 38 million kilos. The volume of exports was about a quarter lower than in July of the previous year. The volume of grain imports in July was about 5,6 million kilos, which was about 15% lower than in July 2020.
  • The value of exports of dairy and dairy products decreased by 7 per cent from July of the previous year, while the volume of exports decreased by about 14%. The value of imports of milk and dairy products decreased by just over one per cent, while the volume of imports decreased by 8 per cent.
  • The value of meat exports decreased by 15% from the previous July, with exports volume declining by 21% over the same period. The value of meat imports fell by 11%, while the volume of imported meat fell by 14%.
  • The value of fruit and berry exports increased by over 40% from the previous July, while the value of imports fell by 2.5 per cent. The value of vegetable imports increased by 0.5 per cent.
  • About one million kilograms of ware and starch potato were exported in July, which was almost three times the amount compared to the same period in the previous year. Potato was imported 45% less than a year ago.
