The statistics include information about product volumes and values. Product values are nominal values.

Classifications used

The classifications of agri-food products used in the statistics and their grouping  from the classifications used by Finnish Customs are presented in the classification table. The country classification follows the classification used by Finnish Customs.

Data collection methods and source

Customs collects basic data for the statistics by means of Intrastat notifications completed by companies engaged in trade in the European Single Market. Information about trade outside the EU is based on customs declarations. Statistical data is compiled on the basis of the International Trade Statistics (Ulljas, uljas.tulli.fi) of Finnish Customs.
