Foreign trade in agri-food products, 7/2020 (preliminary)

  • In July 2020, agricultural products and foodstuffs were exported to the value of just under EUR 0.15 billion and were imported for about EUR 0.4 billion. The value of exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs rose by about 5 per cent from July of the previous year, while the value of imports remained almost unchanged.
  • The volume of grain exports in July 2020 was about 51 million kilos, which is about 10 million kilos more than in July of the previous year. The volume of grain imports was about 6.5 million kilos, which was about 2.6 million kilos more than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
  • The value of exports of dairy and dairy products increased by about 18 per cent and the volume of exports by 21 per cent from July of the previous year. The value of imports of milk and dairy products decreased by about 3%, the volume of imports remained the same.
  •  The value of meat exports rose by almost 30% from the previous July, while the volume of exports rose by a fifth. The value of meat imports fell by about 12 per cent and the volume of imports by 8 per cent from July of the previous year.
  • The value and volume of fruit and berry exports decreased by almost 50% compared to the previous July. The value of imports of fruit and berries increased by around 5% during the same period, while the volume of imports remained unchanged.
  • The value of vegetable exports increased by 60% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, while the value of vegetable imports decreased by about 8%.
