In June 2021, agricultural products and foodstuffs were exported at a value of just over EUR 0.14 billion and imported at just over EUR 0.4 billion. Compared to June of the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 4%. The value of exports remained almost unchanged.
The volume of grain exports in June 2021 was approximately 55 million kilos. The volume of exports in the crop year 2020/2021 (July-June) was 30 percent lower than in the corresponding period 2019/2020. The volume of grain imports decreased by about 10% during the same period. The volume of grain imports in June was about 5 million kilos.
The value of exports of dairy and dairy products increased by 1 percent from June of the previous year, while the volume of exports decreased by about 3 percent. The value of imports of milk and dairy products decreased by 11 per cent, while the volume of imports decreased by 11 percent.
The value of meat exports remained unchanged from the previous June, with export volumes declining by 7% over the same period. The value of meat imports fell by 11 percent, while the volume of imported meat fell by 15 percent.
The value of fruit and berry exports fell by 22 percent from the previous June, while the value of imports fell by 11 percent. The value of vegetable exports more than doubled (+ 220%) during the same period. The value of vegetable imports fell by 6%.
The value of exports of alcoholic beverages increased by 21% from June of the previous year; while the value of imports fell by 11% at the same time.
