The volume of grain exports in June 2020 was approximately 54 million kilograms, and the volume of imports was approximately 5.9 million kilograms. The value of grain exports increased by about 75 percent during the 2019-2020 harvest season (July-June) compared to the 2018-2019 harvest season. During the same period, the volume of grain exports doubled. The value of grain imports fell by almost 30 percent from the previous harvest season, while the number of kilograms of grain imported fell by almost 60 percent.
In June, meat was imported for about EUR 16.5 million (4.4 million kg) and exported for EUR 13.4 million (6.6 million kg). The value of meat imports fell by about 15 percent when comparing the first half of 2020 with the first half of the previous year. At the same time, the value of meat exports increased by 27 percent.
