In February 2021, agricultural products and foodstuffs were exported in the amount of just over EUR 0.13 billion and imported for about EUR 0.38 billion. Compared to February of the previous year, the value of exports decreased by 8 percent and the value of imports by 7 percent.
The volume of grain exports in February 2021 was approximately 29 million kilos. The volume of exports in the crop year 2020/2021 (July-February) was a quarter lower than in the corresponding period 2019/2020. The volume of grain imports decreased by about 8 percent during the same period. The volume of grain imports in February was about 12.3 million kilograms.
The value of exports of dairy and dairy products decreased by 3 percent from February of the previous year, while the volume of exports increased by 7 percent. The value of imports of milk and dairy products fell by 9 percent, while the volume of imports fell by 3 percent.
The value of meat exports increased by 5 percent from the previous January, while the volume of exports increased by 19 percent. The value of meat imports fell by a quarter from the previous year, while the volume of imported meat fell by about 16 percent.
The value of exports of fruit and berries increased by 2 percent compared to the previous February, with the value of their imports falling by less than 1 percent. The value of vegetable exports fell by 7 percent, while the value of imports remained unchanged.
The value of exports of alcoholic beverages decreased by almost a third from February of the previous year; the value of their imports, on the other hand, rose by a third.
