Exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs in October 2021 amounted to EUR 0.16 billion and were imported in the amount of EUR 0.47 billion. The value of exports decreased by about 3 percent and the value of imports increased by 4 percent compared to October of the previous year.
The volume of both grain exports and imports was about 24 million kilos in October 2021. The value of grain exports fell by 34% in the first half of the 2021/2022 harvest year (July-October) compared to the same period in 2020/2021. The volume of grain imports more than doubled over the same period.
The value of exports of dairy and dairy products decreased by about 15 per cent compared to the previous October, while the volume of exports decreased by the same amount. The value of imports of dairy and dairy products decreased by 2 percent, while the volume of imports decreased by 9 percent.
The value of meat exports decreased by 28 percent and the volume of exports by 26 percent compared to October 2020. The value of meat imports increased by 10 percent, while the volume of imported meat decreased by 2 percent.
The value of fruit and berry exports rose by 42 percent from the previous October, while the value of imports rose by 4 percent. The value of vegetable exports fell by 5 percent, while the value of imports remained unchanged.
Alcohol exports remained unchanged from October of the previous year, while alcohol imports fell by almost 30 percent over the same period.
