Foreign trade in agri-food products, 11/2021 (preliminary)

  • Exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs in November 2021 amounted to EUR 0.16 billion and were imported in the amount of EUR 0.54 billion. The value of exports increased by 8 percent and the value of imports by 14 percent compared with November of the previous year.
  • The volume of grain exports in November 2021 was about 29 million kilos. The volume of grain exports in the first half of the 2021/2022 harvest year (July-November) decreased by about 34 percent compared to the corresponding period in the 2020/2021 harvest year. The volume of grain imports, which was 24 million kilograms in November, increased by 250% over the same period.
  • The value of exports of dairy and dairy products decreased by about 13 percent compared to the previous November, while the volume of exports decreased by 15 percent. The value of imports of milk and dairy products increased by 5%, while the volume of imports decreased by 2%.
  • The value of meat exports fell by 11 percent and the volume of exports by 13 percent from November 2020. The value of meat imports rose by 23%, while the volume of imported meat rose by 11%.
  • The value of fruit and berry exports rose by 6 percent from the previous November, while the value of imports rose by 4 percent. The value of vegetable exports rose by 2 percent, while the value of imports rose by 3 percent.
  • The value of potato exports almost tripled compared to November of the previous year, while the value of imports remained unchanged. The volume of exports, 0.8 million kilograms, was more than four times higher than in November of the previous year.
  • The value of alcohol exports increased by 16 percent in November, while the value of its imports increased by 43 percent year-on-year.
