Foreign trade in roundwood and forest industry products, 8/2020 (preliminary)

  • In January-August the real exports value totalled EUR 6.90 billion and decreased by 17 per cent compared to same period previous year (deflated using wholesale price index). In August the exports value of forest industry products totalled EUR 0.81 billion.
  • The exports value of wood-products industries totalled EUR 1.56 billion in January-August and decreased in real terms by 16 per cent from previous year. The exports value for sawn goods decreased by 18 per cent and plywood decreased by a fifth.
  • The exports value of pulp and paper industries totalled EUR 5.34 billion in January-August and decreased from the same period previous year by 18 per cent. The exports value of pulp decreased by 24 per cent and paper decreased by 29 per cent. Whereas the exports value of paperboard increased by two per cent.
  • In January-August wood imports totalled 8.40 million cubic metres and increased by 10 per cent compared to same period previous year. Of imported wood 77 per cent originated from Russia.
