Foreign trade in roundwood and forest industry products, 4/2020 (preliminary)

In April 2020, the exports value of forest industry products totalled EUR 0.89 billion. In January-April the exports value totalled EUR 3.39 billion in real terms and decreased by 18 per cent compared to the same period previous year. The exports value of wood-products industries decreased from previous year at the same period 23 per cent to EUR 0.72 billion and pulp and paper industries decreased 17 per cent to EUR 2.67 billion (deflated using wholesale price index).
In April wood imports totalled 1.11 million cubic metres. In January-April wood imports totalled 3.99 million cubic metres and increased by 11 per cent from same period previous year.
Of imported wood in January-April 75 per cent originated from Russia, 11 per cent from Latvia and 9 per cent from Estonia.
