Foreign trade in roundwood and forest industry products, 3/2023 (preliminary)

In March 2023 the exports value of forest industry products totalled EUR 1.33 billion. Of this the share of pulp and paper industries was 76%.

Wood imports

In March wood imports totalled 0.62 million cubic meters. Of imported wood 60% was pulpwood, a fair quarter chips and 4% logs. The remaining 11% consisted of fuelwood and by-products wood, such as wood pellets.
In January-March wood imports totalled 1.51 million cubic meters. Of imported wood a third originated from Estonia. The share of Latvia was 30% and Sweden 27%.

In January-March the exports value of forest industry products totalled EUR 3.26 billion and decreased in real terms from same period previous year by 3% (deflated using wholesale price index, 1949=100). Of the exports value the share of paperboard was 26%, pulp a quarter and paper 21%. The share of sawn goods was 15%.
