Foreign trade in roundwood and forest industry products, 10/2020 (preliminary)

In October 2020 the exports value of forest industry products totalled EUR 0.87 billion. In January-October the exports value of forest industry products totalled in real terms EUR 8.60 billion. Compared to the same period previous year the exports value decreased by 16 per cent (deflated using wholesale price index).
In January-October the real exports value of wood products industries was EUR 2.02 billion and decreased from previous year 12 per cent. In the same period the exports value of sawn goods decreased by 14 per cent.
The exports value of pulp and paper industries totalled in real terms EUR 6.58 billion in January-October and decreased by 17 per cent from the same period previous year. In the same period the exports value of paper decreased by 28 per cent and of pulp by 21 per cent. The exports value of paperboard did not change.
In January-October wood imports totalled 10.53 million cubic metres and increased by seven per cent compared to same period previous year. In October 2020 wood imports totalled 1.07 million cubic metres.
Of imported wood in January-October 54 per cent was pulpwood and 35 per cent chips. In the same period the imports of pulpwood decreased by two per cent and of chips increased by 18 per cent.
