In February 2020, the value of exported agri-food products totalled EUR 0.14 billion. The value of imported agri-food totalled EUR 0,4 billion. Compared with January 2020, the value of exports increased by 3%, and the value of imports decreased by 7%.
The value of exported cereals was EUR 13,3 million in February, and the value of imported cereals EUR 3,3 million. Both the value of exports and the value of imports increased by almost 50 % compared to January 2020. In total, 70,2 million kilos of cereals were exported and 7,3 million kilos were imported in February. The largest exporting countries of cereals were Spain, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The largest importing countries were Poland, Spain, Italy and Kazakhstan.
The value of exported milk and dairy products was EUR 30.6 million in February, remaining the same as in January 2020. The value of imports went down 3% compared to January 2020, and was EUR 25.7 million in February. The export volume was 13.3 million kilos and the import volume approximately 8.3 million kilos.
In February, the value of exported meat was EUR 11.9 million and the value of imported meat was EUR 16 million. The export volume was 5.2 million kilos and the import volume approximately 4 million kilos.
The value of imported fruits and berries was in February EUR 38.5 million, and the value of exported fruits and berries EUR 0,9 million. Vegetables were imported by EUR 26,2 million, and exported by EUR 2,4 million.
The final annual foreign trade statistics for agricultural products and foodstuffs 2019 will be published in September Release calendar. Until then, the data for 2019 may still change.
