Foreign trade in fish, 11/2022 (preliminary)

Fish and fish products were imported to Finland in November 2022 worth just under 56 million euros, amounting to approximately 8.6 million kilograms. There were 5 million kilos of imported fresh salmon, the majority of which went on to Europe in transit, about 1.4 million kilos remained in the country.

Fish and fish products were exported for 29 million euros; amounting to 5.9 million kilograms. Salmon passing through the country accounted for approximately 3.6 million kilograms of exports.

  • The value of imports increased by 14 percent and the amount of imports decreased by two percent compared to November of the previous year. 96 percent of the imported fish was food fish.
  • The value of exports increased by 17 percent compared to the previous November. The amount of exports decreased by 33 percent. 85 percent of the exported fish was food fish.
