Foreign trade in fish, 10/2022 (preliminary)

Fish and fish products were imported to Finland in October 2022 worth 61 million euros, amounting to approximately 9.6 million kilograms. There were 5.6 million kilos of imported fresh salmon, the majority of which went on to Europe in transit, about 1.7 million kilos remained in the country.

  • Fish and fish products were exported for 31 million euros; amounting to 8.4 million kilograms. Salmon passing through the country accounted for about 3.9 million kilos of exports.
  • The value of imports increased by 35 percent and the amount of imports by seven percent compared to October of the previous year. 93 percent of the imported fish was food fish.
  • The value of exports increased 41 percent compared to the previous October. The amount of exports increased by five percent. 94 percent of the exported fish was food fish.
