Foreign trade in fish, 6/2024 (preliminary)

In June 2024, the value of fish and fish products imported into Finland was around EUR 42.1 million, or 7.3 million kilos. Of these imports, around 2.8 million kilograms were fresh whole salmon, of which 54% went on to Europe in transit, leaving 1.3 million kilograms inland.

• Fish and fish products were exported for EUR 14.7 million, 4.9 million kilos. Fresh whole salmon in transit accounted for 1.5 million kilos of exports.
• The value of imports fell by 19% compared to June of the previous year. The volume of imports fell by 2%. 80% of the imported fish was food fish.
• The value of exports fell by 24% compared to the previous June. The volume of exports increased by 1%. Of the fish exported, 82% was food fish.
