In June, 4.5 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 12% from the previous year and 18% from the ten-year June average.
Sawlogs accounted for 2.1 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.4 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 3.7 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.7 million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests.
In June 632 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
