In July, 3.4 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was 4% up from the previous year and 29% from the ten-year July average.
Sawlogs accounted for 1.5 million m³ and pulpwood for 1.9 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 2.7 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.6 million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests.
In January-July, 35.7 million m³ of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was up 18% from the previous year.
In July 305 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
