Commercial fellings, 5/2021

In May, 4.1 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 16% from the previous year and 18% above the ten-year May average.
Sawlogs accounted for 2.2 million m³ and pulpwood for 1.9 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 3.3 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.8 million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests.
In May, 622 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
