In April, 4.6 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 25% from the previous year and 1% up from the ten-year April average.
Sawlogs accounted for 1.9 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.8 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 3.8 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.9 million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests.
In January-April, 23.8 million m³ of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was up 22% from the previous year
In April, 373 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
