In February, 6.0 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 28% from the previous year and 7% up from the ten-year February average.
Sawlogs accounted for 2.4 million m³ and pulpwood for 3.6 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 5.2 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 0.9 million m³ of roundwood from their forests.
In February, 415 000 cubic meters of wood was harvested for energy production.
