Special competence: Assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts of food production and consumption, development of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods and standards. Communication of environmental impacts of food products and consumption. Projects/Duties: Environmental impact assessment of diet and consumption scenarios and their mitigation. Environmental impact assessment of cattle production and new plant proteins, and their mitigation. Development of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) stardards, in particularly EC's Product Environmental Footprint, PEF guidelines, and methods (e.g. N2O-emissions, soil carbon, land use change, biodiversity). Communication of environmental impacts, and evaluation of the effectiveness of consumer communication.
