Cereals purchased, used and stockpiled by industry and trade, 2010

In the last quarter of the year 2010

  • 460 kilos of grain were purchased directly from farms, which is some 17% less than the average in the previous quarters.
  • 56 million kilos of turnip rape and rape were purchased directly from farms, which is nearly double the amount when compared with the two previous quarters.
  • The industry used a total of 330 million kilos of grain, which is the same as in the previous quarters.

 In 2010

  • A total of 2.1 billion kilos of grain flowed from farms to the market, of which 45% was barley.
  • A total of 158 million kilos of turnip rape and rape was transported from farms to the market, which is double the amount when compared with the year 2009.
  • A total of 1.3 billion kilos of grain was used in the industry, of which 31% was used for food and 45% for feed.

 At the close of 2010

  • The industry and stores had a total of 600 million kilos of grain and nearly 40 million kilos of turnip rape and rape in their storage.

Data of cereals purchased in January-September 2010 have been corrected 15.3.2011. The most important change is in the case of barley, about 64 million kilos.
