Preparation of organic farm research network and living lab activities in South Savo

Internationally, organic research has moved closer to practice by building farm research networks and living lab environments where research and development work is carried out in collaboration with farmers, advisors, other food chain actors and researchers. In living lab environments, research can serve the development of farming in a more effective way and collaboration and knowledge sharing can help address acute issues in the region. In organic farming, regional and local cooperation is key. Models exist for building farm research around the living lab concept, but the research themes and ways for collaboration should always be based on the needs of the region and the interest of the actors involved. The project will explore models and opportunities for living lab activities to support organic production in South Savo region.
