Commercial fellings, 8/2021

In August, 6.0 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was 26% up from the previous year and 18% from the ten-year August average.
Sawlogs accounted for 3.0 million m³ and pulpwood for 3.0 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 5.0 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested one million m³ of industrial roundwood from their forests.
In January-August, 41.7 million m³ of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was up 19% from the previous year.
In August 830 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
