Användning av skogens naturlig föryngring och kontinuitetsskogar i skogsbruk

Aim of the project is to develop silvicultural methods that take into account the needs of multiple uses of forests and the vulnerability of northern nature. The project utilizes and further develops the results and methods already gained in the experiments dealing with continuous cover forestry and natural regeneration.

The most important outputs of the project are guidelines to use alternative forestry methods and natural regeneration methods in different forest types. These guidelines are based on methods tested on natural scale experiments (regeneration and tree growth). Results are published also in international scientific journals.
