Statistics on the purchase, use and storage of cereals and protein and oilseeds, Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022:

More than 340 million kilos of grain were transferred from farms to the market, of which

  • 42 million kilos of bread wheat
  • 54 million kilos of feed wheat
  • 11 million kilos of rye
  • 25 million kilos of malting barley
  • 77 million kilos of feed barley
  • 60 million kilos of food oats
  • 71 million kilos of feed oats

Of the purchases of grain from industry and trade, 329 million kilograms were conventionally produced and about 11 million kilograms organic. In addition to cereals, 6.5 million kilograms of rapeseed and colza, 2.6 million kilograms of peas, and 0.4 million kilograms of kidney beans entered the market from farms.

The domestic industry used a total of 342 million kilos of grain (15.3 million kg of organic grain), of which

  • 121 million kilos for food use - of which 13 million kilos as organic kg.
  • 148 million kilos for feed use - of which 2 million kilos for organic use.
  • 73 million kilos for other use.

3.9 million kilos of peas were used by industry, 1.2 million kilos of beans, 15.3 million kilos of corn and 17.5 million kilos of soybeans.
