Milk and Milk Product Statistics, year 2020

• Milk production decreased to 2,336 million liters in 2020. Dairies received 2 293 million litres of milk
• In December 2020, milk producers numbered 5,370 - 400 less than in 2019.
• Organic milk production was 79 million liters and there were 139 organic milk producers.
• There were 255,620 dairy cows in December 2020, which is 1% less than in December 2019. A dairy cow's average yield rose to 9,000 liters.

 Production volumes of dairy products

Compared to the previous year, in year 2020:

• The production volumes of liquid dairy products fell by 2%
• Butter production rose by 3%
• Cheese production rose by 3%.
