Scaling agricultural sensor data for an improved monitoring of agri-environmental conditions
ScaleAgData WP1
The EU's Green Deal sets clear targets for a more competitive and sustainable agriculture. This requires data-driven decision making for farmers, governments and other policy makers.
The Horizon Europe ScaleAgData project aims to bridge the data gap of observations at the local level by unlocking, integrating and upscaling the data from in-situ sensors on farms.
Specific attention will be paid to innovations in sensor technology, edge computing, data analytics and novel Earth observation products.
Luke leads the task for Data-based farming services. The work is mainly based on Digital Twin model of the fields that combines machinery, weather and remote sensing data with a biophysical simulation and can support decision making during the growing season. The methods are being tested and developed in co-operation with the Project's Research and Innovation Labs.
