Cereals purchased, used and stockpiled, Q4 2020 and year 2020

During the year 2020 (change from previous year in brackets)

• A total of 2.1 billion kilos (+17%) of cereals entered the market from farms, of which bread wheat 333 million kilos (+76%), feed wheat 205 million kilos (-14%), rye 87 million kilos (-13%), malting barley 132 million kilos (+11%), feed barley 573 million kilos (0%) and oats 751 million kilos (+34%).
• A total of 35 million kilos (-34%) of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms.
• Industry in Finland used a total of 1.38 billion kilos (+3%) cereals, of which 581 million kilos of cereals (+1%) were used for animal feed production, 459 million kilos (+5%) for food production and 344 million kilos (+5%) for other industrial production.

At the end of year 2020 (change from previous year in brackets)

• Trade and industry stocks contained 97 million kilos (+7%) of wheat, 80 million kilos (-9%) of rye, 106 million kilos (-22%) of barley and 270 million kilos (+44%) of oats.
