Cereals purchased, used and stockpiled, Q4 2019 and year 2019

During the year 2019 (change from previous year in brackets)

• A total of 1.8 billion kilos (-4%) of cereals entered the market from farms, of which bread wheat 189 million kilos (-7%), feed wheat 238 million kilos (-15%), rye 100 million kilos (+61%), malting barley 119 million kilos (-24%), feed barley 575 million kilos (+13%) and oats 559 million kilos (-13%).
• A total of 54 million kilos (-23%) of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms.
• Industry in Finland used a total of 1.34 billion kilos (0%) cereals, of which 574 million kilos of cereals (-2%) were used for animal feed production, 439 million kilos (+4%) for food production and 329 million kilos (-3%) for other industrial production.

Trade and industry stocks contained 89 million kilos (-36%) of wheat, 88 million kilos (+21%) of rye, 136 million kilos (-28%) of barley and 186 million kilos (-25%) of oats.
