Milk and Milk Product Statistics, 6/2023 (provisional)

In January to June, two per cent less milk was produced than in the corresponding period one year ago. In June, milk production decreased by four per cent from the previous month. Milk was produced 179 million liters in June.

The manufacture of liquid dairy products and butter decreased, while the manufacture of cheese increased in January-June compared with the corresponding period of the year before.

Compared to previous year, in January-June 2023:

  • Milk production:  - 2%
  • Production of liquid dairy products: - 2%
  • Butter production:  - 2%
  • Cheese production:   + 5%

From 2023 onwards, production of fresh cheese and other fresh products, are not entirely comparable with data from previous years.
