Milk and Milk Product Statistics, 5/2023 (provisional)

Milk production in January-May was two per cent lower than a year ago. In May, production fell by 1%.

Compared to previous year, in January-May 2023:

• Milk production:  - 2%
• Production of liquid dairy products: - 2%
• Butter production:  - 1%
• Cheese production:   +4 %

From 2023 onwards, production of fresh cheese and other fresh products, are not entirely comparable with data from previous years.
