Dairy Statistics, year 2010 and Milk and Milk Product Statistics 1/2011 (provisional)

In January 2011, year-on-year:              

• Milk production was nearly at the same level
• The number of milk producers fell by 6%
• Butter production fell by 5%
• Cheese production rose by slightly (0.2%)
• Milk powder production rose by 24%.

Compared to the previous year, January-December 2010:

• Milk production rose slightly (0.3%)
• The production volumes of liquid dairy products was nearly at the same level than previous year
• Butter production fell by 8%
• Cheese production rose by 4%
• Milk powder production rose by 5%.
