Meat Production by Area 2019 (beef, pork and sheep)

  • Pork production was 171 million kilos in 2019, which was one per cent more than during the previous year. Production increased most in Ostrobothnia and South Ostrobothnia.
  • The largest pork-producing municipalities were Huittinen, Loimaa and Uusikaarlepyy.
  • Beef production increased by one per cent to 88 million kilos in 2019. Production increased slightly in many ELY Centre regions.
  • The most beef was produced in Kiuruvesi (3.4 million kg), Kuopio (3.3 million kg) and Kurikka (2.2 million kg).
  • Mutton production fell by 2 per cent to 1.5 million kilograms.
  • The most of mutton was produced in Salo, Somero and Jomala.

 

Pork production volumes in Seinäjoki and Uusikaarlepyy 2019 has been revised (20.3.2020).
