Utilised Agricultural Area 2019, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2019 based on the situation on 17 June 2019. The next adjustment to the preliminary information will be made based on more extensive data on 16 July.

In 2019, the most significant changes in the utilised agricultural area in Finland (2.3 million hectares);

the cultivated area of cereals, 1,067,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area - will increase by 27,000 hectares;
The sown area of barley, 456,000 hectares (-2%) and oats, 317,000 hectares (-2%) decreased while area of wheats 208,000 ha and (+10%), rye 39,000 hectares (+123%) increased
the area under caraway (24,000 ha) will decrease by 12%
the area under turnip rape and oilseed rape (37,000 ha) will decrease by 36%
