Utilised Agricultural Area 2019, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2019 based on the situation on 16 July 2019.

In 2019, the most significant changes in the utilised agricultural area in Finland (2.3 million hectares);

• the cultivated area of cereals, 1,067,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area - increased by 27,000 hectares;
• The sown area of barley, 455,000 hectares (-2%) and oats, 320,000 hectares (-1%) decreased while area of wheats 207,000 ha and (+9%), rye 38,400 hectares (+121%) increased
• the area under caraway (24,200 ha) decreased by 13%
• the area under turnip rape and oilseed rape (36,700 ha) decreased by 37%
