Statistics on cereals purchase and used by industry and trade, Q3 2010

During the third quarter of 2011:

 

 Cereals purchased from farms

  • A total of 533 million kilos of cereals entered the market from farms.
  • Proportion of oats was 36%, barley 32%, wheat 28% and rye 4%.
  • Amount of cereals purchased from farms was 59% more than during previous quarter and 9% less than during the corresponding quarter of the previoius year.
  • The largest change was with feed barley.
  • A total of 13million kilos of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms.

 Cereals used

  • Industry used a total of 357 million kilos of cereals.
  • Proportion of barley was 46%, wheat 33%, oats 15% and rye 6%.
  • 108 million kilos of cereals were used for food.
  • 163 million kilos of cereals were used for feed.
