- Industry and trade used a total of just over 1.3 billion kilos of foreign and domestic cereals during the last harvest year. About 35 percent of the grain went to food use, the rest to feed and other uses.
- Among protein and oilseeds, 33 million kilos of peas and 37 million kilos of maize were used for industrial purposes.
- The industry and grain brokers bought a total of just over 1.7 billion kilos of cereals directly from farms, including 477 million kilos of wheat, 493 million kilos of barley, 678 million kilos of oats and 68 million kilos of rye.
- In addition to cereals, some 31 million kilos of rape and colza, 47 million kilos of peas and around 6 million kilos of broad beans were sold on farms.
At the end of June 2024, industrial and commercial stocks totalled around 405 million kilos of cereals, of which 132 million kilos were wheat, 50 million kilos rye, 80 million kilos barley and 143 million kilos oats. About 25 million kilos of rapeseed and canola, 9 million kilos of peas, 5 million kilos of broad beans and 13 million kilos of corn were in storage.
