Cereals purchased, used and stockpiled, Q4 2016

During the last quarter of 2016:

A total of 390 million kilos of cereals entered the market from farms, of which

• bread wheat 84 million kilos
• feed wheat 51 million kilos
• rye 10 million kilos
• malting barley 42 million kilos
• feed barley 88 million kilos
• oats 115 million kilos.

A total of 30 million kilos of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms.

Industry in Finland used a total of 349 million kilos of cereals

• 110 million kilos were used for food
• 154 million kilos were used for feed.

 At the end of year 2016:

• Trade and industry stocks contained a combined total of 553 million kilos of cereals.
• The cereal stocks contained 140 million kilos of wheat, 69 million kilos of rye, 168 million kilos of barley and 175 million kilos of oats.
