Cereals purchased, used and stockpiled, Q2 2017

During the second quarter of 2017:

A total of 391 million kilos of cereals entered the market from farms, of which

• bread wheat 58 million kilos
• feed wheat 67 million kilos
• rye 12 million kilos
• malting barley 44 million kilos
• feed barley 109 million kilos
• oats 101 million kilos.

A total of 15 million kilos of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms.

Industry in Finland used a total of 342 million kilos of cereals

• 106 million kilos were used for food
• 148 million kilos were used for feed.

At the end of June 2017:

• Trade and industry stocks contained a combined total of 419 million kilos of cereals.

• The cereal stocks contained 104 million kilos of wheat, 60 million kilos of rye, 124 million kilos of barley and 131 million kilos of oats.
