Milk Production by Area 2011/2012

In quota period 2011/12, the volume of dairy milk amounted to 2,192 million litres.
At the end of the quota period, there were about 9,770 milk producers, a year-on-year decline of approximately seven per cent.
The average volume of milk supplied to dairies by farm was 211,000 litres.
Milk production decreased in all ELY Centre regions except in North Ostrobothnia.
Milk production declined just over 1% in support area C. Production declined just under 2% in support areas A and B.
Most milk was produced in Kokkola, Kiuruvesi, Nivala, Vieremä, Lapinlahti, Jalasjärvi and Kauhava.
