Milk and Milk Product Statistics, 9/2023 (provisional)

In January to September, one per cent less milk was produced than in the corresponding period a year ago. In September, production was just over 169 million liters, which is almost same as in the previous year.

The manufacture of liquid dairy products decreased, the manufacture of cheese increased, and manufacture of butter was the same in January-September as in the same period a year ago. 

Compared to previous year, in January-September 2023:

  • Milk production:  - 1%
  • Production of liquid dairy products: - 2%
  • Butter production:  0%
  • Cheese production:   +4%

From 2023 onwards, production of fresh cheese and other fresh products, are not entirely comparable with data from previous years.
