Milk and Milk Product Statistics, 10/2023 (provisional)

In January to October, one per cent less milk was produced than in the corresponding period a year ago. In October, production was just over 171 million liters, which is almost same as in the previous year.

The manufacture of liquid dairy products decreased, while the manufacture of cheese and butter increased in January-October compared with the corresponding period of the year before.  

Compared to previous year, in January-October 2023:

  • Milk production:  - 1%
  • Production of liquid dairy products: - 2%
  • Butter production:  + 1%
  • Cheese production:   + 3%

From 2023 onwards, production of fresh cheese and other fresh products, are not entirely comparable with data from previous years.
