Dairy Statistics, year 2009 and 1/2010 (provisional)

Compared to the previous year, January-December 2009:

  • Dairies receives 1% more milk
  • The average fat content of dairy milk was 4.21% and its protein content 3.45%
  • The number of producers fell by 6% 
  • Milk production declined slightly under 1%
  • Buttermilk production declined by 3%
  • Cream production rose by 4%
  • Curd milk production declined by 2%
  • Yoghurt production rose by 2%
  • Butter production rose by 4%
  • Cheese production fell by 2%
  • Milk powder production rose by 80%.

In January 2010, year-on-year:              

  • Dairies received 2% more milk
  • The number of milk producers fell by 5%
  • The production volumes of liquid dairy products fell
  • Butter production fell by 1%
  • Cheese production rose by 6%
  • Milk powder production rose by 88%.
