Meat Production by Area 2021

  • Pork production was 176 million kilos in 2021, which was nearly equal than 2020. The most pork was produced in South Ostrobothnia (42.5 million kg), in Southwest Finland (39.6 million kg) and in Ostrobothnia (30.2 million kg).  
  • The largest pork-producing municipalities were Loimaa, Huittinen and Uusikaarlepyy.
  • Beef production decreased by one per cent to 86 million kilos in 2021. The most beef was produced in South Ostrobothnia (13.6 million kg), North Ostrobothnia (12.9 million kg) and in North Savo (12.2 million kg).
  • The most beef was produced in Kiuruvesi, Kuopio and Kurikka.  
  • Mutton production fell by eight per cent to 1.3 million kilograms.
  • The most of mutton was produced in Southwest Finland, Ostrobothnia and North Ostrobothnia.
